Not Just a Torch (Song: I’m Still Here)
SONG: I’m Still Here ARTIST: John Rzeznik ANIME: Shakugan No Shana COMPLETION TIME: 80 editing hours PROGRAMS USED: Adobe Premiere 6.5 and Photoshop I had to cut the song down a little, mainly at the end (The outro is really long) but it’s not even noticeable. I made this vid for Anime Boston’s contest but I didn’t make it in this year. Concept: I adore Shakugan No Shana and when I showed the series to my sister she suggested this song would go well with the main male lead (Yuji). It does…in theory. The problem I noticed very early on was that the lyrics in many places of the song are very abstract. Finding clips that fit them was a headache. As much as I don’t have a problem with lip flap the sheer amount in this vid was pushing even my limit. It wasn’t that I didn’t want to take out more of the lipflap but that I just didn’t have the time. I only had about 80 editing hours on this one. I had a different video I was working on (Thinking I had plenty of time) and then just 2 weeks before the AB deadline I realized I didn’t have enough footage of the character I’d chosen to complete the vid. I had no choice but to switch to the Shana vid. I edited out as much lipflap as I had time for, but I just ran out of time. I stayed awake the last night of the deadline till 11am trying to get the thing encoded in time. I would like to go back in and fix it, but for now the tasks I negelected in order to finish my vid need to be attended to so it’ll have to wait. To make matters …
